Uranus

Planeta Urano

It is the seventh planet from the Sun and the third largest of the Solar System. It was discovered in 1781 by William Herschel. The methane contained in its atmosphere absorbs the red light, and that is why it reflects the blue and green shades. It is inclined in such a way that the equator is almost at right angle, 98§, to the orbital plane. This is why, occasionally, the hotest part, facing the Sun, is one of the poles. Its distance to the Sun is twice that of Saturn. It has 9 rings. The outermost ring, Epsilon, is made out of ice rocks and coloured grey.
