The Moon has an almost spherical form.

To study the surface of the Moon, the same that we do on the terrestrial surface, we draw on the globe of the Moon a network of imaginary lines that help us to do the study of our satellite.Let´s see which are some of these lines:

             — The Moon turns on yes same as if it had an axis that crosses it and that happens for its center. This imaginary line is called a lunar axis.

             — The points of cut of the axis with the lunar surface are called poles . There are two poles: north pole and south pole.

             — If we cut lunar surface by a plane perpendicular to the axis in its average point, the resultant section is a maximum circumference, which is called EQUATOR , that crosses for the crater Manilio.

The equator divides to the Moon in two hemispheres: north hemisphere and south hemisphere .

             — The MERIDIANS are maximum imaginary circumferences that pass for the poles. It is considered the meridian 0º the one that passes for the crater Mösting A.

             — The PARALLELS are imaginary parallel circumferences to the equator.
